We are currently a troop of eleven girls in Irmo, SC. Irmo, located on the shores of Lake Murray, is a suburb of Columbia,
the capital of South Carolina. There are eight Juniors, in two patrols, and three Cadettes.
The Cadettes are involved in the 2005 Thinking Day Postcard Exchange. We have emailed troops in other states and
countries to arrange trades, and have corresponded with troops requesting trades with our troop. Now, as the postcards come
in, the Cadettes are emailing the troops to let them know that their postcards have arrived and then organizing the postcards
into a binder.
Each Cadette will lead the other Cadettes in at least one Focus Book or Interest Project Award this year. The girls
have completed the On The Go Focus Book (Way to go, Megan!) and the Camping IPA, and are working on the Cookies and Dough
IPA.
The Juniors are planning our own activities and are taking turns leading badges of our choice. This gives the girls
practice in leadership skills. We are getting the chance to do the things we really want to do but never had the opportunity.
(Remember to turn in your badge plan at least two weeks before you will lead it.)
So far, the Juniors have earned Camera Shots (Great job, Claire!), Toymaker (Way to go, Michelle!), and the new badge
Cookie Biz. We have begun work on our Junior Aide award, helping our Sister Brownie Troop, and also on the Girl Scout Bronze
Award.
Girls, if you are absent from a meeting, follow the link to see what we did, and what you need to do before the next
meeting. In the Parent Information link you will find forms and worksheets that may come in handy.
